Tartu Observatory
Group of Vegation Remote Sensing
I started my work in Tartu Observatory, Estonia using EC Marie Curie Reintegration Fellowship in year 2005.
I am graduated from Tartu University as physicists (optics) in 1984 and in 1993 completed my master thesis about optical properties of water, since 1995 I have worked in Estonia Marine Institute as research associate. I completed my Ph.D. thesis (2000) on the optical properties of Estonian and Finnish lakes. After that I have been funded by a EC Marie Curie Fellowship to Uppsala University and a later Marie Curie reintegration grant in the Tartu Observatory (2005) to investigate applications of remote sensing methods to large European lakes. I am a member of Estonian remote sensing committee. I have been a co-organizer of international symposiums about physical processes in natural waters and large European lakes; published 22 peer-reviewed papers about bio-optical modeling, remote sensing of inland coastal waters and ice cover, also atmospheric correction of satellite images. |
