X-ray clusters in supercluster-void network

We study the distribution of X-ray clusters of galaxies (from the catalog by Schwope et al. 2000) in respect to the supercluster-void network defined by Abell clusters of galaxies and compile a list of X-ray clusters in superclusters.

In this Figure white spheres represent Abell clusters from very rich superclusters, and violet spheres - X-ray clusters. Most X-ray clusters are embedded in superclusters of Abell clusters (animation, 3D VRML model).  

 

We calculate the correlation function of the X-ray clusters in rich superclusters (Tago et al. 2000). At large separations this function is oscillating with period of 120 Mpc that corresponds to the correlations between clusters in superclusters at opposite void walls (white line - X-ray clusters, yellow line - Abell clusters).

In Pisces supercluster region poor X-ray clusters connect superclusters of Abell clusters along the border of a giant void (see 3D VRML model here).

Red spheres correspond to optically very rich X-ray clusters from David, Forman and Jones (1999)  (animation)
