APM clusters in supercluster-void network

We study the distribution of APM clusters of galaxies in respect to the supercluster-void network defined by Abell clusters of galaxies, compile a list of superclusters of APM clusters and calculate the correlation function and power spectrum for APM clusters.

White spheres represent Abell clusters from very rich superclusters, and yellow spheres - APM clusters. APM clusters with measured velocities populate mainly three very rich superclusters - the Horologium-Reticulum, the Pisces-Cetus, and the Sculptor superclusters that surround the Sculptor void with diameter of about 200 Mpc. Correlations between these clusters are the reason why there is a strong secondary maximum in the correlation function of APM clusters at separations of 200 Mpc (animation).

Correlation functions for Abell and APM clusters in rich superclusters. Dotted line - correlation function for Abell clusters, short-dashed line - all APM clusters, solid line - APM clusters with measured velocities.
