SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT

SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM AND CONTRIBUTIONS:
The scientific program is divided into three sessions: A - SINGLE STARS, B - BINARIES, C - SPECTRAL MODELLING AND DIAGNOSTICS. The SOC has invited and accepted 15 reviews:

From the proposals made by the participants, the SOC has accepted 14 oral presentations (15 minutes plus 5 minutes for discussion), 8 short oral contributions (7 minutes + 3 minutes for discussion) and 19 posters. See the list near the end of this message. All authors have been informed about the acceptance of their contribution (if you did not get an acceptance message: contact LAMERS@ASTRO.UU.NL). The available space per poster is 70x100 cm. All the posters should be exposed on Aug. 23 and they will be on display during all days of the Workshop.

The proceedings will be published in the ASP-Conference Series (editors H.J.G.L.M. Lamers and A. Sapar). The recommended space allocation is: 12 pages for reviews, 8 pages for OP, 5 pages for SC and 2 pages for posters. The instructions of preparing contributions for publication you will give from our ftp server. TIME SCHEDULE OF THE WORKSHOP EVENTS:

August 22:

August 23: August 24: August 25: August 26: August 27:

HOTELS:
The LOC has made reservations for all registered participants of the Workshop. The LOC will inform you personally about the details of reservation. Presently the reservations have been made for 6 nights: 22-28 Aug. All the participants are asked to inform the LOC about the dates of arrival and departure before August 1, especially in the case when arrival date is earlier than August 22 and the departure date is later than August 28.

ARRIVAL AND TRANSPORT:
All the participants are asked to inform the LOC about travel details (flight number or ferry name and arrival time). The LOC has decided during one day (August 22) to meet you in Tallinn airport or harbour and to organize free transportation to the autobus terminal of Tallinn. The distance between Tallinn and Tartu is about 180 km. Please check the bus timetable from Tallinn to Tartu and from Tartu to Tallinn. Bus ticket costs about 80-90 EEK (about 6 USD). Money can be exchanged both in the airport and in the bus terminals (taxes are lower in the airport terminal than in the bus terminal!). It is possible to rent a car from Tallinn airport. Note that the airport is renovated this summer so it may be quite uncomfortable and crowded when you arrive. When arriving in Tartu you can reach your hotel by taxi or by walking because some hotels are located quite close to the bus terminal of Tartu (see the map of central part of Tartu with marked locations of the bus terminal, hotels and Conference hall). The taxi prices are about 4+4*l EEK, where l is the distance in km (this means for example that you must pay approximately one USD per 2.5 km travel, 1 USD ~15 EEK ).

REGISTRATION:
The registration fee is USD 100.- before July 15 and USD 125.- later.
For review speakers and the SOC members the registration fee is USD 50.- before July 15 and USD 75.- later.
The registration fee is waived for the SOC members who give reviews, for the astronomers coming from the CIS countries (former S.U.: Russia, Ukraine, ...) and for a limited number of students.

The registration fee is asked to be paid to the bank account No. 221005105886 of the Hansabank in Estonia (Hansabank's Swift Code is HABA EE 2X). Please don't forget to add (in comments) your name and the word - Workshop.

Cheques payable to Tartu Observatory are also accepted. These must be sent to:

NB! Credit cards can not be used for direct payment of registration fee.

Registration form is available here.

VISA:
A visa is not needed for the citizens (holders of passport) of the following countries:

The citizens (holders of passport) of other countries need a visa for coming to Estonia.

All the participants of the Workshop who need a visa for coming to Estonia are asked to contact their travel agencies for advice about the application time and procedure.
