Eerme, I. Ansko, S. Lätt),Estonian radiation climatology (V. Russak, A. Kallis) and actual theoretical problems of climatology (O. Kärner) A. Kallis and V. Russak have been a contributors of the recent noteworthy paper issued in May 2005 in "Science". It is shown that in many sites of the Northern hemisphere extratropics the atmospheric transparency has improved and more radiation than in previous decades reaches the ground-level. The results can be found also in the "Handbook of estonian Solar Radiation Climate" (2003) compiled by them. O. Kärner has published metodological deep studies on the reliability of climate change detection. He has found that not only the reliability of future climate scenarios but also that of the last century trends is not high enough. The doses of ultraviolet radiation reaching the ground-level vary almost similarly to the broadband solar radiation. Before 1976 and after 1993 the doses in most years have been considerably higher than in years 1976-1993 manifesting often more cloudier summers.
